IMEM-CNR joins Italian Pavilion at Expo Dubai with the in-vivo sensor that monitors the plants

IMEM-CMR is present at the EXPO in Dubai with an innovative sensor technology, based on a biocompatible and flexible electrochemical device for real-time monitoring of plant sap. The innovative biosensors have been installed on various plants within the "Giardino Italia", in a permanent installation, and are measuring their state of health in real time. The data collected will be presented together with the applications of the technology on 26th February in a special event, directly from Dubai.

The innovative technology allow anyone to measure data on the physiological condition of plants, calculate the optimal irrigation, promptly detect drought stress and save up to 40% of water reserves. The technology has been applied to the different Mediterranean plant types present within the "Giardino Italia" and will measure their state of health and level of irrigation.

In recent days, the demonstration installation of IMEM-CNR Biosensors was visited by the President of Emilia Romagna Region, Stefano Bonaccini, accompanied by the General Commissioner Paolo Glisenti and Romano Prodi, during the tour at the Italian Pavilion, on the occasion of the regional institutional mission in Dubai.
